Angel di maria

Angel Di Maria, is currently in South Africa helping Argentina in the World Cup but will swap leagues from Portugal to Spain after the competition ends on the 11th of July.

“Real Madrid and Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of Angel di Maria. The player will sign a six-year contract with Real Madrid.” wrote a statement on the Galácticos website.

Di Maria who spoke in South Africa at Argentina’s camp said “It is an honour to know that Jose Mourinho wants to sign me. It will be very nice to play in the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo and many other stars, but for now I’m focused on the Argentina team.”

The 22-year-old Argentinean star is highly regarded by European teams and was in many European teams transfer lists.

Di Maria who moved to Benfica from Argentinean side Rosario Central in 2007 improved his game greatly and was chosen as the player of the season in Portugal after securing his side the double in the 2009-10 season.

The young talented player will sign a “six-year contract” with the Spanish giants who were greatly criticized last year after failing to win the La Liga or Champions League after over €200 million of transfer spending.

Argentina’s Manager and former World Cup winner, the living legend Maradona had also praised the young star who plays as a winger, even before the World Cup had started.
